There is a Hebrew word, rēaʿ (רֵעַ), pronounced ray'-ah.

It appears frequently in the Old Testament, often denoting a person with whom one has a close or reciprocal relationship, spanning meanings from a intimate friend to a fellow citizen or simply "another person"

We felt this word fit what we wanted to release this Easter.

Coffee goes through a long journey before it reaches your cup.

From the farm, to processing, export, import, roasting. Many hands are involved along the way.

When we were putting this release together, we kept coming back to the image of jute bags. The kind used to carry green coffee.

They are simple, worn, and honest. They show that the coffee has travelled, been handled, and passed on from one person to another.

That idea of being carried and passed along felt closely tied to what rēaʿ represents.

For this release, we have a Peru Geisha from Finca Los Santos, processed as a natural.

In the cup, it is expressive and clean.

You will get grape jello sweetness, orange marmalade brightness, and soft jasmine florals towards the finish.

Easter, at its core, is about being brought near. About relationship.

We wanted this coffee to reflect that in a simple way.

Something you can brew, enjoy, and maybe share with someone else.
